India Coffee No. 2 is a speciality coffee for those who want something genuinely different from the classic fruity or chocolatey profiles. This 100% Arabica from India comes from the Karnataka region in southern India and is processed using the traditional monsooning method – an ancient technique where green Arabica beans are exposed for several weeks to warm, humid monsoon winds. It is precisely this process that gives the coffee its distinct character: nearly all natural acidity is removed, and deep, spiced aromas emerge in its place.
In the cup, you can expect notes of deep caramel, creamy hazelnut and warming spices – cinnamon, black pepper and a hint of vanilla. The coffee has a full, oleic body, very low acidity and a long, spiced finish. It is a great choice for anyone looking for an Indian coffee with an Eastern, intensely aromatic character – not fruity, but deep and spiced, with a pronounced caramel sweetness.
Thanks to its omniroast profile, India No. 2 works well both in espresso machines and alternative brewing methods. You can brew it in a moka pot, French Press, drip brewer or AeroPress. We especially recommend it to those who prefer coffees without sharp acidity and are looking for a complex, spiced and caramel-forward profile that stands apart from popular African and Latin American origins.
